Become an AONA member

By joining AONA, you can access a variety of resources and educational and networking opportunities to help you gain a deeper understanding of eye care, assist your professional development, and help improve patient-care services.

We offer three membership levels:

1. Full Membership is available to all nurses licensed with APHRA (EN, RN, NP). For a small annual fee, full membership comes with access to all the resources in our private members area. Full members are able to vote at our AGM.

2. Associate Membership is available to non-nurses (e.g. managers, industry representatives, other healthcare providers and undergraduate students). For a small annual fee, our associate members receive access to all benefits offered by a full AONA membership – including full access to our dedicated members area – except they cannot vote at our AGM.

3. Life Membership is awarded to long-term AONA nurse members who have provided significant support to AONA. These are decided by the AONA Executive. Life members are awarded an ongoing complimentary membership with access to all member benefits.

Benefits of your AONA membership:

  • Clinical meetings and TeleED (online) meetings, scheduled throughout the year that earn you CPD points (on topics tailored to the needs of our members)
  • Access to free virtual and face-to-face clinical meetings plus a members’ discount on all paid clinical sessions that earn you CPD points (on topics tailored to the needs of our members)
  • Members’ early-bird discount on the annual conference fee (another opportunity to earn CPD points!)
